Yes, let’s.

tomorrow=dday

The lady who is in charge of the education outreach program at TGen called me and she told me that unfortunately, they could only accept 9 high schoolers to the Helio Scholars Program. She said that since I was also well-qualified, she passed my application along to other researchers who she said found me to be an interesting person. But I already secured another internship. I think if you try calling them they will be more open and personal and perhaps give some opportunities.

I called them but no one picked up. Hmm…

Thank you! That’s really nice of you. And I do find it a bit baffling that I can get rejected from this program three years in a row, yet I can get accepted to Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford…On the bright side, there will be zillions of research opportunities for me at Harvard next year, and there will be zillions of such opportunities for everyone else in your future college careers. I agree with the sentiment that this program is supposedly all about “opening doors for everyone,” yet in reality it opens its doors to almost no one.

I agree. Oh well!

This is just sad. There are SO few research opportunities for high-school students in the Phoenix area! ):

I’ve taken three computer programming classes, and I got a 5 on the AP Comp Sci exam…I was rejected as well :P

Were you ultimately selected? If so, congratulations!
