Ok so I am a junior, so this might seem a little early. And long. But I really need some advice!!!
I have some burning questions and would love to find a few things out.
My Stats:
Caucasian Female
Had a 3.8 unweighted before 1st semester junior year
Last semester was my 1st semester at a new school (My 3rd high school in 3 years because of moving) and it was a very difficult transition, since 99% of the kids had been there since at least freshman year and were used to the curriculum.
I took AP World History last year, and received a four.

Pomona College
Claremont College
Tufts
UCLA
USC
Stanford
Wesleyan

Also, I was wondering what would sound better on a college application: An internship this summer at UNA-USA(An agency involved with the UN) or an academic trip to Spain, France, and London.

VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION
If I am feeling unsure about my SAT's and want to take the ACT. Is it better to take the ACT first or the SAT, since I have heard that your SAT score has to be sent with SAT II scores, no matter what?

Difficult to say at this point without SAT or ACT scores. Remember too, no one on CC can offer you anything but rough guesstimates.

Assuming you get 2200+ on the SATs or ACTs above 32 with SATIIs above 730, you'll be a bit below odds on averages* for acceptance to Princeton, Brown, Amherst, Harvard, Dartmouth, Pomona and Stanford because of your grades (too many Bs this year; C in pre-calc only hurts). Same for UCLA because you are OOS. Your chances increase a bit at Tufts, CMC and Wesleyan and even more at NYU and USC as they are less selective relatively.

*as an example of an odds on average: Say Amherst's admit rate is 1 in 5, if you are below par, your odds of getting are lower say, in the 1 in 6 to 1 in 7 range.

Once you get your standardized test scores, I'd develop a list of schools that are comprised of not so many reach schools.

Take the UN internship, take the ACTs, take the SATIIs (do the French reading).

You are correct in thinking that it is better to take the ACT before the SAT if SAT IIs are required. This is because if you do well on your ACT, you do not need to take the SAT. Reporting of ACT tests is optional as decided by you. SAT reporting includes all SAT I and SAT II scores whether or not you like the results. Regarding your list of colleges, it is too hard to make any educated guess without SAT or ACT scores. You may want to look at some SAT optional schools, such as Bowdoin College, because your grades are excellent.

Are you seriously going to apply to all of those colleges?
you may wanna shorten down ur list a bit....at one time u'd realize that it's really tiresome to apply to SOO many schools...w/ so many types of applications/essays/rec..etc.

Well, I just crunched the numbers for fun, and you're unweighted GPA is a 3.35. If you get perfect grades your next semester, your UW will be 3.47 by ED time. If you also get perfect grades first semester senior year, you'd have a 3.56 UW to send in with RD apps. As nothing more than a freshman, I don't feel incredibly qualified to say this, but, with your EC's in mind, I would say:

Sorry to sound pessimistic, but a 3.56 just doesn't cut it at most Ivies. However, being on crew could help if your team is really good and you're on your school's top boat. Based on your current list of prospective schools, I'd presume that you're most interested by schools on the east coast. If that's the case, some slightly less selective (yet similar in terms of professor quality, etc.) schools like Bates, Colby, Connecticut (the private college, not UConn), and Trinity might be good matches for you. I also think Bowdoin and Hamilton would make nice mid-reaches.

Ah, my bad, you're right. For what it's worth, I was counting A's as 4's and B's as 3's. You've racked up 104 GPA points so far, but I accidentally miscounted your number of classes. No wonder I'm stronger in the humanities than math/sci! :p

Anyhow, in terms of your chances, I'd say that makes Claremont a yes and Pomona a maybe. I suppose it could also turn Wesleyan into a more feasible reach. Sadly, the Ivies, Amherst, Stanford, and Tufts would all likely require some sort of preferential treatment based on crew to get you in.
