I am absolutely tired of so many people complaining about UCLA's admissions. You are crazy to think that you are overqualified to go to UCLA. Come on! This is the school wehre the most kids apply to every year. I'm sure that if you are a 1450, 4.4GPA, there are PLENTY of kids just like you. WHo's to say you gets an admissions spot?? First of all, stats for UCLA averages to be about 1340 SAT gasp and a 4.09 drops dead!!!!!!!! These stats mean that people were accepted below a 1340 and above a 1340. So this is a big range since many accepted are 1500+, so tha tmeans that some could even be a 1150 eww. Stop being bitter adn trying to defend your pride because you got rejected. If you are so great, then others schools that are better will bound to take you. Just because you score better on a measly three hour test, which you could prepare for for years, doesn't mean that you are automatically admitted into the wonderful world of UCLA. Get over it. Move on.

UCLA isn't the center of the world. There are UCB and many private schools that would probably accept you.

Yeah Losers!!!!

no, seriously. You guys have to learn that they also read your essays and consider what you will consider to the campus, not just rather or not you will have straight A's. They want leaders and ppl who will stand out. Doing well on a combination of verbal and math q's does not qualify you above others. Maybe one day you will see what I mean. Anyway, there's still Berkeley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

contribute!!!!!!!!!!!

I expect UCLA's average SAT I score to be about 1360 this year.

steaky and king need to chill out

get a livejournal and rant there

This is what i expect the average were this year.
4.1 GPA
1380 SAT I
^yea..it cant get any higher than that.
well i am sure i got in because of my essay. my gpa/satI/sat II were all above average but people who had higher stats than me got rjected in my school so the essays play a MAJOR ROLE in ur admission.

I believe the GPA is higher this year. Around a 4.26. It was 4.24 last year.

I got in with a 1260, so I'm living proof that a high SAT score doesn't make it or break it.

:)

4.26?!!! dat is ridiculous. u gotta be kidding. there were so many unusual acceptance that it can't be dat high.

last year, they only accepted like 3% of the people with 3.3-3.6 gpa. i think it was still the same this year. maybe you just know too many people that were in that 3%.

no..people in our school and my friends got in with 3.8-4.0

Classless.

note that there can be sore winners as well as sore losers. i think this thread is unnecessary.

i think its not such a nice to say rejects are losers... its jus that ucla isnt the best place for them. im sure a few years later they look back and theyd be glad that they've gone to somewhere else

yea, what a rotten thread.

I'm just sick and tired of people nitpicking. Of course it s*ucks to be rejected from a school. It's not intended to be mean but to finally end all the bitterness about not getting accepted to UCLA. Sorry if it was offensive but I think that the people who didn't get in is just putting down the ones who did.

There have been students who were rejected from UCLA who showed a marvelous attitude and remained positive on this board. Let's give credit to those as well.
