Half of the people that I have talked to say that they spend hours and hours studying as a Computer Science major while the other half say that they don't study very much at all and are able to ace their classes. I'm confused.

Is Computer Science an "all-or-nothing" major? How many hours do you spend studying a week (excluding GE's).

There are always genius out there but if you are not one of them, you will most likely have to put some time in.

For me, I don’t actually “study” much, per se, unless it’s a theoretical class. Usually the time sink is doing the projects, which in my experience acts as a form of studying anyway since you’re working with what you’re being tested on. Now for theoretical classes, I tend to do an hour or two a day (during the week, at least) chipping away at the homework and going over my notes. I do know people who are natural geniuses with a given class and they can get away with little to no studying and finish their projects really quickly. Most people aren’t like that though, in my experience.
