<p>Hi, I'm an Italian student (I'm attending a Scientific High School). I'm only 16 year old, but my dream is to study at Harvard Univ. (or at a Ivy league Uni) So... I need some advice. Well, .. I have collected some information about admission. I know it is very very very difficult (expecially for foreign students like me... :(<br>
First of all I will tell you something about instruction in Italy, which is a bit different from yours. We have 5 years of High School (and it orients already towards the scientific or humanistic branch: infact there are scientific high schools, artistic high schools, classic high school...). Grades come from 1 (it means the worst), from 10 (it means the best cum laude). In the middle there is 6, which is the sufficient minumum. Under "6" it's not sufficient and if you end a year with 4 (for example) in any subject, you will have to pass a little exam the next year, and if you don't pass it, you will have a "debit" which you must pass before the "Maturità". If you have more than 3 debits at the and of a year, you won't be admitted to the next year. At the end of 5 years, there is the "Maturità" (which corresponds to your SAT) wich is a final exam for all subjects. You can't be admitted if you have any debits (it means that you must have at least 6 in all subject). The final score of the maturità is /100. The maximum is of course 100/100 cum laude. The maturià is obligatory for everybody. After the high school you can choose to attend at university. Only the faculties of law, medicine, architecture, veterinary, engeneering have ulterior admission tests. Actually I am attending the 2nd year of the scientific high school, and I have to prepare me from now to attend in a Ivy league Uni.
Well.. I know I will have to attend the Toefl and the SAT I and SAT II. But I need some books and material to prepare me. Could you advice me?
Actually I haven't got the PET yet, but I've 9 in English...(which is nothing in comparison the skills I must have...I think). I need also information about the financial aid for overseas, as I live in EU, and.. I need to know if I've got any hopes, but I think not.... :(((( How much I'd want have born in USA... Thank you, and exscuse me for the language. Kind regards</p>
<p>harvard, i believe (someone correct me if i'm wrong), is need blind even in international admissions</p>
<p>So I haven't chances.... (I couldn't understand what you wanted to tell me..., ) or perhaps.....?</p>
