Hello everyone! Please chance me I am very worried.

I am a White Jewish Male not born in the USA. I came here when I was 3 years old.
I go to the Bronx High School of Science (20th best in the nation but DOES NOT RANK)
The school sends its students to many top schools such as Ivy's and such.
My G.P.A. is 79.5/100 (Yeah I know its bad but I'm sure it will rise by the end of this term)
My SAT Scores are as follows:
SAT I: Crit. Read. = 650, Math = 670, Writing = 690, Total = 2010 (Yeah had to be stupid and do best on writing....sucks)
SAT II: United States History = 620, Math I = 620, Literature = 520, Math II = 550 (Really bad on the 500 ones but what can ya do..)

I had a letter of recommendation from my United States History teacher and a letter of recommendation from my ballroom dancing coach of five years.

My essays are very well written if I do say so myself. I believe writing to be my prominent strength so I hope that saves me.

Biology - 84
Math B - 81
Chem - 67 (Wack...)
Physics - 65 (Terrible...)

I have countless ribbons from various dancing competitions in a number of places ranging from 1st place to Semi-Final qualifier. I had all this information in my resume.

Schools in order of priority:
American University
Boston University
Fordham University
New York University (I know its a long shot but I just did it)
Quinnipiac University
Hofstra University
Stony Brook University
Penn State University - Altoona
Catholic University
Oswego University
Adelphi University
Six CUNYS with Baruch and Hunter as my only interests

I really want to get into the top three schools on my list with American being a very important interest. I am extremely interested in politics and journalism and wish to pursue them in the university considering it is one of the best in the nation for those majors. I know my grades are fairly bad but I can attribute that mostly to my rigorous dancing program. I have been dancing for a very long time and that has taken up much of my daily life, leaving me little time to study. I fully blame my inability to balance dance and school on myself and included that in all of my applications as well as passionate essays describing my dedication to what I do and will do in the future.

So anyone want to review my chances?

bump....come on guys

anyone?....

I can speak for Fordham and NYU, I suppose.

Fordham: You have a good chance of getting in with your extracurriculars and SAT scores. Grades don't mean much to Fordham, and even though they say they usually accept a 93 average, it's completely false. People as low as 73 have gotten in from my school (though my school is a Jesuit HS)

NYU: It's a reach, but I think you can at least get into General Studies and/or HEOP. My stats only got me into General Studies when I did ED with them (released!) Your extracurriculars and SAT scores speak well to them, so don't fret!

hope that helps! and please, tell me your opinion about mine if possible!

wow thanks alot guys. i'd love some more feedback.

bump........

bump again ......

You're hilarious I kinda recognize your sn from a friend. Actually I just queried MTSTech ny (my friend's also doing that) and found this. Anyway, I wonder if regents scores go on transcripts.... Your SAT scores will surely get you somewhere but the rest depends on your financial ability, college essays, and scholarships.

American University - Probably target
Boston University - Target- low reach
Fordham University - reach
New York University - reach
Quinnipiac University- never heard of that...O.o
Hofstra University- who knows
Stony Brook University- Terget
Penn State University - Safety
Catholic University- what's that? aren't you jewish? jk.
Oswego University - Target
Adelphi University- Target
Six CUNYS with Baruch and Hunter - Safety

Oh btw....you should be careful about the information you put out. Isn't this a bit much?

American is a match and so is BU. Fordham is a reach and so is NYU but they might like you or something. Stony brook is a good target as well as Adelphi, Penn state, when you apply to one of the non main campuses, youre almost guaranteed admission.
definitely in at all of the CUNYs

chance me back at <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/635725-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/635725-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html</a>
or reply at <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/638813-im-not-sure-if-will-help-me.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/638813-im-not-sure-if-will-help-me.html</a></p>

Lol, Jomur you're talking about Abu right? Yeah lol I recognize you too. ^_^. Thanks though. Its great that you think American is a target I really want to get there. And yeah I figure alot of people never heard of some of these places but apparently they're great party schools if I don't get into where I want. ;). Oh and yeah I'm just applying to Catholic cause my guidance counselor wouldn't quit badgering me about it so I figure why not its a good school. On terms of information most people post this kinda stuff here so I think I'm safe. Anyways thanks for the feedback, great news.

I'm wonderin why everyone seems to think that Fordham is such a reach. I mean I heard that it isn't particularly difficult to get into, at least not harder than American or BU. Why does everyone think its so difficult?

bump .....

bump again
