Hello! It's time for...

Aww, sorry if people thought that I was hijacking this thread:/

I don’t. And I started this thread. Therefore, claims of hijacking are irrelevant.

Continue questioning, please.

What do you think of the latest Doctor Who episode? (Just aired today, of course.) :)

Oh, it was great. I know all the specifics of it since I watched the show…It was just…great.

Did you really? :P

What book character resembles you the most?

^^No I didn’t. I thought I made that clear–hard to tell over internet. Was it good though?

Book character: A strange mixture of Holden Caulfield (minus whininess) + Atticus Finch (perspectives, y’all) + Howard Roark (but I ain’t a cold Objectivist) + Gatsby (like the dreams, don’t like the illegality and shadiness) + Guy Montag (i prevent the stopping of burning books).

Do you watch glee? If not, why not? If yes, which character resembles you the most?

No (though I know a ton of ppl who do). Um I…just never watched it. I have a pretty full-ish TV schedule haha idk…i just didn’t, but I have heard (mostly) good things! You can tell me about the characters and I’ll give an answer…

Ok, I’ve heard of a couple of those characters. Have you ever read * A Fine Balance *?

I heard that show is good. I’ve never seen it though:/

A fine balance…it sounds familiar but i can’t place it,

It’s about the Emergency in India. It’s worth looking into. I feel that although it’s fiction, it incorporates historic aspects into the story of the characters.

Thought that was sarcasm. Difficult to tell over the 'net.

Yes, it was rather good. A little silly, I thought, and they could’ve done more with it, but there were some incredible scenes and some amazing top-notch acting (John Simm and David Tennant play so well off of each other, it’s a bit mind-boggling). If you have time, you should definitely watch the show. It’s well worth your time. But then again, I’m horribly biased. ;)

I love television (I could discuss for awhile, many aspects of it)…and I think I might have bookmarked a site with Doctor Who. Right now, I’m working on Arrested Development (freaking AMAZING) and perhaps I will start The Wire. IDK! I have to watch so much!!! :)

DO you feel bad when a “loser” gets picked on? If you do, what stops you from stopping the bullies?

Umm, there aren’t really any typical bullies at my school; there are like…0-1 fights a year. But people do get picked on…just not violently (99% of time). Umm, if I am in a position to–especially if I know the person–I will try to say something. IDK this question is tough to answer, because I haven’t encountered this situation much. Sometimes the picking on is sort of subtle and lasts 1 second, so I might say something or not in that second…and then it’s over. So, this answer made no sense.

What is progress?

Is progress ever universal?

Is it possible for the world to get better, in an objective sense?

I view progress as positive advancement or development.

Progress isn’t universal in the sense that everything progresses at the same time, but paradoxically, it can be universal in that the overall state of the world gets better (e.g. from the Middle Ages–>Enlightenment/Renaissance was universal progress in that overall, things were better, but in some aspects of life there may have been stagnation or decrease).

The world can get better. Although you don’t really recognize it until you look back in retrospect. The above example (Middle Ages–>Enlightenment/Renaissance) works. But also it can be seen through higher living age and more free people in recent years. The world will never be perfect, but it can certainly get better.

it should be Zapy, then Zapx, then Zapw, etc.

Were you sad when Kutner died on House?
