Hello...please give me your opinion on my NYU chances.

Hey guys! Ok, here's my info, do with it what you will.....aka give me your opinion, I would really appreciate it.

GPA, unweighted: 3.68
GPA, weighted: 4.1

Took 7+ AP classes, did well in class.....vague, right? (A's and B's)

SAT, first time taking: CR-590, Math-630, Writing-650
SAT, second time: CR-640, Math-580, Writing-750

SAT IIs were really bad: MATH II-590, Lit-570

ACT-28

Volunteering- Library, museum, tutoring

Not born in America, Low income family, one family member in out of state university.

My recommendations are great because I have a good relationship with my teachers and counselor. Everyone loves my essay about diversity, but who knkows??

Be honest because I'm not going to get creepily depressed about the truth.

I'm applying to NYU (Stern possibly) and three UC schools: UCSD, UC Irvine, and UCSB (I go to school in CA)

That's it! Thanks for the help.

I think you'll have trouble getting into Stern. It is very competitive, and test scores matter a good deal. Ideally you'd score 700 in all sections of the SAT.

That being said, NYU does accept a wide variety of students. Given your background, if you write a really good essay, you'll still have a chance. Good luck.

i think you will have an extremely tough time getting into any of the school.

You do look like a good gsp candidate though

Funny, I consider GSP a part of the school.

u cant apply to gsp though...
and ur not guaranteed a spot in the other schools if u dont do well enough in gsp

i think youll have a good chance at irvine and santa barbara.
stern is a definite reach for you because of test scores
