Hello, some insight please?

Hey everyone, I posted a few chance threads about a month ago, but now that I have ACTUALLY submitted applications, I would like to hear some insight regarding my chances of being admitted.

-Overall 3.54 GPA;45 credit hours earned; 12 credit hours currently in progress; relatively distinct upward grade trend: 2.95 fall 2006 semester to a 4.0 fall 2008 semester.
- My intended major is philosophy.
- Attending a CC in NY.

So far, I have applied to the University of Georgia and Clemson. I would be entering as a junior at both schools. Neither school's transfer application provided a spot to list EC's. Additionally, neither school asked for an essay or letters of recommendation (which absolutely would have been my strongest selling point). However, the Clemson app. did ask for work experience; my work experience is quite substantial and diverse--ranging from full time seasonal construction to various retail work.

I've also considered applying to UMiami (fl), UMN-TC, and UF (although the recent bcs championship didn't make things any easier for me, haha). As you can see, I am interested in large and relatively reputable(?) schools.

So if anyone would like to afford an assessment of my chances, I would really appreciate it! And if there are any other schools that you feel may suit me-- and are within my range, please let me know!

bumppppppp

while they may not have required recs. or a list of ec's, you certainly could have (or can if its not too late) furnish them to the schools if you think they will help your chances...should have a decent chance at all those schools

Thanks for the response! I didn't even think to do that--I think I may still have time to, though!

Anyone else?

Laaaaaast bump attempt...anyone?

Not familiar with those particular schools, but generally a 3.5 puts you in the running for good universities. You've got that, plus an upward trend.

i got into clemson today!!!!! sickkkkkk

im new to the college admissions process--but that seemed reaaalllly quick. I literally applied like 3 weeks ago!

oh and by the way, I graduated high school with a 64.5% and was suspended from school as much as I attended. moreover, that 64.5 was only because i went to summer school every single year since 9th grade; none of this was due to my lack of ability, simply a lack of discipline.

so for anyone who feels like their hs mess will inhibit them forever, know that it doesn't have to!

granted, clemson is by no means harvard, but in light of my HS situation, it damnn sure feels feels like it!

Nice job. I'm majoring in philosophy as well. If its not too late, why not add a couple reaches to that list. Maybe Umich? Great philosophy program. Or if you want to go more southern, maybe Chapel Hill?

I agree, now that I have got into Clemson, I want to apply to some reaches!

What schools would you guys suggest? I want it to be a big reach, yet not a lost cause.

take into consideration that if HS stats are required, I'll be sending in a 64.5 GPA.

ANY input would be hugely appreciated!
