hi there! i'd like to know if you think i have a chance at these UCs.

i'm transferring from a community college.
gpa: 3.4.
major: psychology.
units completed: 40.

taking 19 units right now. no W's. hopefully, gpa will be 3.5 by the time fall semester is over. i'm pretty sure i need two more courses after this to finish prerequisites and igetc. i was an art major at first; switched to psych. very little work experience, no ECs since i graduated high school.

should i apply for a TAG if i can?

please give me your opinion on my chances at these, and other UC's if you think i should consider them:

right now i think i shouldn't bother to apply for UCLA; counselor told me that psych majors who transfer there usually have GPAs of 3.67 or higher.

anyone else want to rate my chances, please?

being frank here, does not look that great for UCLA. ur gpa is a little low to be competitive, but iono, you may have some job or Ec that may bring ups some wows. i say ur good to go for uci and sd

Sign a TAP for UCLA asap -- it requires that you complete whatever is on the contract and maintain at least a 3.1. You still have a chance at UCLA if you want to go.

I think you are a match for all UCs but UCLA and Berkeley. Remember that Psychology (especially at Berk, LA and SD) require a good amount of pre-requisites and they really want you to complete them so be sure to get as many of those done as possible.

definitely do a TAG program if you can, it gets the pressure off ur shoulders when its time for the letters to come in.... if you plan to apply to UCLA because psych is a heavily impacted major you dont wanna take any chances so have all IGETC and prereqs done ASAP, before THE START OF SPRING SEMESTER IF YOU CAN... btw which ccc are u from?
