Hello! I am a first time poster who plans on being active within the coming months…

My questions may be confusing(and dumb) so please bear with me.

I am currently in my first year at Los Angeles Pierce College(a community college) and plan to transfer to a UC, preferably UCLA, CAL, UCSB, or UCI by fall of 2010. I know I still have a year before the whole application process, but I have a couple of questions that I would like to get off my back:

I took some classes at another CC, if I transfer that credit to Pierce(the cc i’m in right now), will it help my GPA?

What’s the point of getting credit from taking AP’s in highschool? Will it raise my GPA if I transfer them over to my CC?

If I take “easy” classes right now so I can have a solid GPA during the application process in fall of 09, will it increase my chances of getting into UC’s? Or do UC’s base acceptance on work in progress for fall of 09 or other factors?

Does mentioning Extra Curriculars from highschool help?

If I take english 101, labs and other prerequisites that i haven’t done during spring of 09, is that too late?

I’d appreciate some help, and in addition I would also like to know where I stand in getting into the above mentioned UC’s in 2010 with these stats…i know the bar’s probably going to be raised by then…

Major: Undeclared as of now, possibly somewhere in the social sciences.
GPA: 3.68 - 3.701(i’m trying to maintain that by fall of 09)
TAP: Possibly, I’m planning on applying today at my CC
IGETC: I’ll be done by next spring of 2010
ECs: Volunteer at the Mid Valley YMCA, FAC(club at cc). In highschool: honors society, key club, student government, swim team, and more…
Work Experience: I work at a Burger joint(In N Out) so I don’t think it really helps…
Awards: none as of now

I would like to take this time to thank you for your help and to apologize if I broke any rules, if any of the questions I’ve asked have already been addressed; feel free to direct me to the thread. I’ll be sure to read the FAQ when I have time, I have class in 10 minutes.
