Helloooooo

HS senior here. November now, getting kind of antsy. Shouldn't have procrastinated as much ;(
Anyways-- thought id give this site a a shot, heard so much about it. Any and all help is very much appreciated. Truly! ")
NYS resident

SAT (first time)
writing-~630
reading ~640
math 670
total- 1910
took it a second time last week, feeling pretty good, I think i secured a 2k at the very least.

middle-class family, but I don't really want to burden my parents (they don't like me very much) ;(

HS average- ~94 or 95 (that becomes a 3.9 or something right?)

AP- scored 5 on calc AB
- self-studying calc BC, taking exam this year
-taking AP bio now
- my senior year english teacher really likes my work for some reason, said i could start AP english in Jan if I wanted to. I plan to.

School- Jamaica Gateway to the Sciences-- brand new school, my batch is actually the first complete 4 year batch to graduate. Limited APs (only about 4 or 5). Not really noteworthy at the moment, but it's really good and rising fast.

EC-- tennis team (2nd singles), fencing team, robotics, swimming team, no really special achievements. volunteer work at local library. no really outstanding achievements ;(
a couple of CollegeNow classes (2)

Looking specifically at: Stony brook (honors possibly)
Macaulay Honors (CUNY)
Colombia university (though I haven't looked into to it as much)

Researching more into-- Geneseo, Buffalo (SUNY)
-- Maritime (for the ROTC programs)
-- Yale
-- Cornell

What do you guys think?
ps- sorry for the terrible format, I'm very new to online forums
Ill update info if required

Yale and Cornell: Reach due to low SAT

If you want to apply to the three Ivies, go ahead, but they are all high reaches and you also need something in between those and the SUNY and CUNY schools. I recommend Boston University and Lehigh, if you want to stay in the Northeast.

If you are willing to go out of the region, take a look at Tulane down in New Orleans. If you get an ROTC scholarship and take it there, then Tulane will give you free room and board. A few other colleges do the same thing. Boston University gives free room and board to about half of its ROTC scholarship students, on a competitive basis.

By the way, your SAT adds up to 1940, not 1910. There is a mistake somewhere.

Thanks for the responses guys! Really appreciate it.
Yeah Cornell and Colombia are high reaches but going to apply anyways.

:)

Stony Brook Honors a solid possibility. It’s a great program. Yale and Columbia reaches. Cornell depends in part on which college there you’re applying to. Some much harder to get into (i.e. engineering) others easier w/ lower SAT ranges. Check out the scores required for the Contract College schools (Human Ecology, ILR, etc) - Macaulay Honors highly competitive

I’d say Buffalo and Geneseo look good. Maritime is great if that’s what you’re interested in majoring in. Good luck.
