hi, guys
I take my first sat test in oct. and did very bad (just1820) cuz I got a fever before the test. So I just wonder if i got 300 points increase (my goal is 2200+)in my Dec. test(I didn't take it in Nov.), will my score be delayed? My friends whose scores were delayed told me you could be delayed if there were 300 points increase or you were reported or something wrong with your information. You know, 12.31 is the deadline for regular decision. It is very important for me to make sure my score will be available before the deadline.

Usually the delay happens when there is a very significant increase in scores like around 500 so they have to double check. Sometimes delays just happen, I got 1970 on my first time and had to wait an extra week. You can call the college board but usually they just tell you that you should wait 5-7 business days. You may have to wait a week but yes that may not be in time to make the deadline of December 31st since scores already take 3 weeks without the double checking.

I went up 200 points and nothing happened. Also a 350 point increase from my psat. You might have a problem but it’s unlikely

My score went from 1820 to 2200 and I had no delay (I was sick the first time too!). It could vary, though. Good luck!

College Board does not publish any level of SAT score change that would trigger a verification investigation. Many (not from College Board) have mentioned 300 points but there seems to be no such set rule and those with higher changes have reported no holds.
