ok i studied my a$$ of in AP euro class and actully did pretty well "A-" (My teach is pretty tough)...anyway...i have kind of procrastinated a bit with studing for the AP test. (we are on a trimester schedule so i havent had euro for like 2 months)

i have read the first review section of rea and have beeen reviewing my notes .....now here is the question:

i need to 'buckle down' i also have teh pr book....would it be faster and better to read the PR book instead REA becuase it is less dense?

i really want to do a practice test and take notes....

ahhh

i am kind of freaking out...

anyhow i would like to ask if anyone here has studied(crammed) for ap euro in little more than a week ...and how they did it..

DON'T USE REA. Or don't use it very much. I am sure PR would be much better...I have REA (it is ALL I have because someone gave it to me for free to use)...and it isn't really AP style. I read the whole first section and it didn't help at all...then I went to class (we have a normal semester schedule) and we reviewed it in class from just our normal textbook and I remembered everything from the textbook and was happy.

My advice is 1.) Review your textbook (is there a shorter version of the textbook you used online or anything? Mine has these cool review summaries online) and 2.) Take at least one practise test before the actual test, 'cause that helps a lot. See if you can go back to your teacher and ask them for advise about the essays you did on the practise test.

I have never seen PR AP Euro, but PR is usually pretty good...That's why I am assuming it is better than REA, which just summarizes and (though it's got lots of nice practice tests) doesn't have questions or analyzing stuff after the review part.

BTW, I am in somewhat the same boat as you...I REALLY need to study for Euro, FAST, in a week...Maybe we should make a Euro review thread? :) I took a practice test today and it really scared me, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I think if I took the actual AP test, right now, I would get a 3-4 at least...but i am desperate for a 5 and I don't know if that is going to happen.

IMO REA is really good. I used it and when my teacher gave a practice ap exam (which was the 1999 ed.) I aced it. REA is really good with summarizing and stuff. Its practice tests are ok as well. However I would use something else for essay prep or DBQ stuuf if u need it.

I'm using Modern Euro History by B. Viault. Throughout the year I took notes from all the chapters in my textbook (McKay) but I felt that it was extremely time consuming to go back and read all the pages of notes again so I started reading the Viault book. I have CliffNotes, REA, textbook, and this. According to my teacher, quite a few kids in the past have gotten 5's by just reading this book. I'm probably going to try reading all 4 books but I doubt it'll happen because I procrastinate so easily.

Also, taking practice tests (as many as you can) is a definite must. Good luck!
