Good credentials. Congratulations on persevering through your family situation - which will help with scholarships and financial aid.

As far as FSU goes, you have a good shot at a significant (~$9600+) university scholarship over and above Florida BF and any Prepaid plans.

The caveat is - you MUST apply EARLY to really have a shot. Apply to FSU by August (the earlier the better) for the best chance.

thanks, anybody else before i put this thread to rest?

You are in at UF, but UF doesnt have pre-law, but you can always major in something else then go to law school.

With your stats at Florida State you might consider the Honors Medical and Legal Scholars Programs. See: http://www.fsu.edu/students/prospective/undergraduate/honors/medlegalschol.html

From the website:

The FSU College of Medicine and the FSU College of Law have joined forces with the Honors Program to create two new early admissions, professional-track programs that are available, on a highly competitive basis, to a small number of motivated students in each incoming Honors class.

Through the Honors Medical Scholars Program, and upon completion of premed requirements, students will be eligible for early admission to the FSU College of Medicine, making it possible to graduate with an undergraduate and M.D. degree in seven years. Students who are accepted into the Honors Legal Scholars Program will be automatically admitted to the FSU College of Law upon completion of the stated prerequisites of that program.

Both programs also give students a head-start on their chosen careers by allowing them to become members of the professional school community while they are still undergraduates. Honors Scholars in both programs are given pre-professional advising, and they meet with professors, observe classes, and shadow current students in either the FSU College of Medicine or the FSU College of Law.

Admissions to Honors is by invitation.

yah, FSU is one of my safeties, and that honors program along with all that money u mentioned early is really tempting at this point, do you guys have any take on my chance for some OOS schools like Cornell, colgate, uva, umich, and vandy? thanks-cj
