I know my SATIIs are fairly low and my GPA isn't incredible (but still decent)... what do you think?

Thanks!! :-D

Just to let evereyone know why I didn't post in the chances thread was because I wanted to get it straight from the brilliant kids applying to Williams who have researched the school, the also brilliant students who attend Williams and are browsing the CC forums, and the parents whose children went to Williams/ went to Williams themselves.

:-)

you seem to be very well rounded. only thing that can hurt you is your SAT II scores, but others look very fine.

thanks, you give me hope man! :-)

bump? :-)...

Hey werd... I know what your going through, wondering how your chances of getting in are and what not. I applied (ED) to Williams, and to my surprise was accepted. I was and still am very, very happy about that. Anyway, I honestly could have seen it go either way with me. I could easily have seen myself deferred and yet I could imagine myself accepted.

My stats weren't stellar, frankly. My SAT was below yours (1330, ACT 31). I guess my SAT II's were good (three averaged 750). I went to a small school and didn't have that many opportunities, yet I challenged myself as much as was possible. Like you, I was involved in a variety of things and yet had some special interests.

Now for you.... Like hopeman said, you are very well-rounded. You definetly have the stats that say you are capable of Williams work. Just all the volunteer work you have makes you seem like a person a college would definetly want to have. So could you be accepted to Williams. Certainly. What are your chances? I really can't say. I would say for myself, I felt like I had a 50/50 chance, or so I felt. In all, if you are accepted or rejected, it doesn't reflect that you are better or worse of course. Basically it says you have what William's wants. That may be your character, your accomplishments, the diversity you offer, or whatever. Some of us luck out. I think I lucked out by being a midwestern farm girl. Without that, I really doubt I would have made it. I think you definetly have a shot, but nothing is for sure other than this: You have enough going for you that no matter what schools accept you, you will be able to find a great one to go to! Good luck with wherever you decide, and I hope ya get into Williams. Let us know how that goes... :)

Thanks so much! This board is wicked friendly :-D... not just because you didn't say I'd be rejected-- if you had, you still would have been awesomely nice because of all the ... niceness, lol :-D Thanks for takin the time to put my mind at ease. :-)

werd, are you a RD applicant like myself?

I think you are really cool, multifacted, neat...everything a college is looking for in an applicant.

heh, I'm an RD, thanks :-)!! I never really truly felt welcome at any other CC board like I do here :-). I hope the addmissinos committee lieks my multifacetedness :-P.

P.S. Thoughtprocess: I went to your website too; it looks cool! Good luck in law (was it?)!
