I like to volunteer, and it's a passion that I just discovered recently. The major issue is that I can't form a connection between this and joining a business school. How can I connect the two?

Run a non-profit?

Volunteer in your spare time?

@packer22: What do you mean.
@glassesarechic: I do now.

Create a charity, that’s what I did, colleges LOVE that. Oh my god I can’t explain how much they badgered the hell out of me during the interview about how I set my charity up and how great of an accomplishment it was.

start your own charity, and TADA

So, can I get the charity in like a microwaveable package or what?

I would recommend doing some research on Do Something, which is a not-for-profit organization that helps youth set up their own charitable projects. They have a ton of resources that are very helpful and you can get money from them to get your project off the ground.

Oh cc, if I had only found you a year earlier.

There are a lot of good charitable causes and non-profits out there right now. You do not have to start your own. Just do your research and make sure that the NFP spends the bulk of their money on helping people in need and not on administrative expenses.
