okay, now that senior year is officially approaching, i'm starting to solidify my list, but i'm wondering if there's something glaring that's missing. i feel like i've looked at tons and tons of colleges and evaluated them, most of them not making the list (obviously) but i'm still unsure.

stats:
white female from FL
public school, doesn't send anyone to top schools really
UW: 4.0
W: 4.55 right now
ACT: 35
SAT: didn't take, and won't
SAT II: took us and math 2 a few days ago, scores soon
Rank: 1/about 375

4 year varsity in 2 sports
various clubs
senior rep for school's honor's program (lots of organizing and planning events to come)
prez of platinum honor society
church youth group

5 on ap euro last year
waiting on scores for ap lang, us, chem, psych, and stats this year
next year taking ap physics, lit, and gov and econ

preferably warm
not too much of a party school or at least with an honor's niche
100% need preferably (about 65K a year income) or some merit
leaning toward medical school (uf and ucf would be 100% tuition paid because of bright futures)
not sure if i want city but not too rural
proximity to water would be nice since i live 5 minutes from the beach right now but it's not a must

list right now:
emory
pomona
scripps
stanford
rice
uf
ucf

and i'm not sure about emory, and maybe pomona and scripps would be too small and too small town (i won't have a car)

phew! that was long. thanks in advance for the help! :)

your GPA, courseload, class rank and ACT score are very very good. I think you have solid chances for your college list. Stanford is always a reach, but you should give it a shot. Maybe you could put a couple of ivies in there too. Good uck coolziller.

You will probably make it into all of them, although Stanford is a little bit iffy.
If I were you I would aim for some of the lower Ivies! You easily have the stats...
Or consider UC Berkeley (meets most of your requirements)

^ I disagree. Don't do Nursing just to get into Medical School, Med schools don't like that. Do it if you want to become a nurse.
Washington University in Saint Louis would easily offer a better pre-med education than UPenn Nursing.
Also, Hopkins is pretty intense competition-wise for pre-med students, but then again, so is WUSTL.
Good luck!

If you get into the honors program at the University of Miami I think you automatically get a huge scholarship, and I think you would definitely get into the honors program.

The obvious choice to consider for premed, especially given your Bright Futures, is UF with the all the opportunities available at Shands. But I'm sure you are already aware of that.

With a family income of 65K, take a shot at Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Columbia. If it works out, you'd be paying next to nothing in the way of a family contribution and you could afford all the down parkas you'd want!

and, ironically, i'm originally from MI, and i visit often, so i know what it's LIKE, i just don't happen to LIKE it.

i really didn't feel like i had much of a shot at anywhere but UF and UCF (and, fyi, i'm leaning toward UCF. it's honor's program seems WAY better to me, and it's so pretty!) so i wasn't thinking big aside from stanford

i just don't have tons of unique ECs and leadership, so in comparison to the rest of CC i thought i was terrible!

i won't throw the north out, but do you guys have any suggestions for CA schools that aren't too too small or too hard to get into out of state? or OR or WA schools? (i was looking at whitman and willamette for a bit)

^ You should have seen the michigan weather today. Pouring rain for hours and hours, and there is tons of flooding
CA schools that you might like? Probably USC or UCLA (probably easier to get into OOS than Berkeley).
UCSD is also pretty good, but better for grad school than for undergrad.
Caltech is small and notoriously bad if you want to be premed
UCF is alright, but UF is more prestigious. Ultimately I would wait to see your scholarship offers from the other schools you apply to. It may turn out that it is cheaper to go OOS than stay in state.

Since you were looking at the Claremont colleges, also check out Occidental. Great school with strong sciences and near the ocean - University of San Diego.
