Help a New Guy Out

How's it going guys. I am currently a junior in NC.

this is the list of schools I'm looking at:

MIT
Stanford
Princeton
Duke
Georgia Tech
UNC

I am looking to do something in biochemistry, possibly bioinformatics. I live in NC, so UNC is pretty much my safety.

GPA

Unweighted: 3.82
Weighted (5 for honors, 6 for AP): 4.84

ACT/SAT/AP exams

ACT composite: 35
ACT math: 35
ACT science: 36
ACT reading: 35
ACT english: 35

SAT subject tests
Math II : 800
Physics: 800

AP exams:
Comp Sci A: 5
Stat: 5

I also did Physics C, Calc BC and Microeconomics this year and I am waiting for my results.

Extracurriculars:

Science olympiad: 3 years
NHS: 1 year
Quiz bowl: 3 years (I have placed individually state wide a couple of times and have appeared on local TV as well)
Economics team: 1 year (I created the team at my school. No one else took the AP class, but I led the team to a third place finish statewide in the AP division this year)
Marching band: 3 years
I am currently doing a research project in bioinformatics over the summer. I am hoping to place in Intel or Siemens.

If you did, thanks for the chance!

bumpppppppppp

MIT-Reach
Stanford-Reach
Princeton-Reach
Duke-Reach
Ga Tech-Match/high match (OOS)
UNC-Match

I think Duke will be less of a problem than the first three schools, which are of course reaches for all. Also throw UChicago into the mix.

Agreed. Definitely have a shot at Dook.

MIT: reach
Stanford: reach
Princeton: reach
Duke: reach
Georgia Tech: match
UNC: match
Your ECs are kind of weak for many of these schools. Hopefully that research project and possible awards help

If I was able to get a Siemens semifinalist for my research, would this increase my chances of getting accepted to MIT, Stanford etc. substantially?

bumpppppppppppppppppppppppp
