how working in my internship changed my life/ ways I do things/made me care about school more

when my mom got into a car accident and I had to be more responsible and it taught me how much family did mean to me because before they were crap to me lmao

going to my home country and seeing the place i was born and feeling more connected to it and being all cultural since i left when i was 3
-my room leaks everytime it rains a lot and ive always rushed home to make sure my computer and books werent wet but one day the cieling was like half falling down and rain poured in it for hours before anyone noticed. all the books that i had since i was 3 were damaged and I felt like a part of me was gone and i cried over it for so long, but i got over it and now i have a new set of books to define a new part of my life

I like the last one, just show how you grew from the experience, use good language, make it interesting, have a catchy hook, and you’re good. I can help if you want, just PM me the essay when you have a draft.

The second, third, and fourth ones all sound like they could be very good essays… though the last one sounds like the most unique topic. The adcoms will probably read many essays about culture and/or family hardships but the last story might make you more memorable.

However, in the end you should try to chose the topic that you think will reveal the most about you.

I like how the last one is unique until the “now i have a new set of books to define a new part of my life” part which suddenly turns it into a cliche.

BUT, to be honest, you can take any of the 4 and create a kicka** essay. Some of the best college essays out there take generic topics and everyday events (Reading a book, walking to school) and spin them into absolutely phenomenal pieces of writing. I believe the writer’s style of writing is most important and be creative.

you should write about how pretty your brunette hair is, and how that has affected your life ;)

Or you can write a paragraph or so on all of your choices, and see which one goes the furthest, which one you’re really passionate about, which one shows more of you.

I would soooo go with the last one. It’s an experience that is unique to you, and if you carry it out with an original and engaging voice then you are golden! :)
