Help a rising junior

Hey im a rising junior i have a 3.57 gpa i have like 10 hours of community service play badminton (we were runner up in finals) IM currently taking Precal Hnrs,IB English HL IB,IBtheory of knowledge, Biology, website design, stats, graphic communications. I was wondering if im on teh right path to a prestigious college such as ucsd or usc. What should i do to better my chances in one of those schools or a matter fact any uc school.

Is that 3.57 weighted or unweighted? If unweighted, you'd have a pretty good shot at UCSD, as it currently stands, though junior year is extremely important. Try to get higher grades this year.

Your GPA is a bit low, but you are challenging yourself with IB/Honor classes. Try to shoot for 4.0s this school year to raise your GPA (plus it would look good with an upward trend). Another thing is that you need more community service hours, since 10 hours isn't very much. Look around on the web and find volunteerig opportunities that relrate to your major/something you like to do.

No, your GPA is not low at all. I do agree that you can try aim higher, but you grade the way it is now is fine...just try not to go lower than your previous grade. I don't see any problems with your classes so you're doing a great job enrolling in the IB programs! As for community services, you need a lot more to be on an even plane with other students. So now, try find volunteer experiences. KEEP RECORD OF EVERYTHING!~> Dates, hours, years...etc. Meanwhile, try to look at other colleges. What kind of major are you thinking of? Anything particular in mind?

Your application comes in a package, so do what you can now. I can't really say anything yet until the end of your junior year to decide. Oh start studying for SATs and SAT II's. Maybe even ACT. Good Luck. I hope this helps. You're welcome to PM me if anything.

Yes thats my weighted gpa sadly :(. But i am really pushing myself to raise my gpa significantly this year. thanks for the help
