Help a rising senior find some schools please?

So I have no idea where I would like to go and I am kinda worried because I will need to start applying soon. I would like to go a school with this criteria(ranked in importance)- I am not very picky.
-lots of diversity but really race interaction especially
- a very fun social life- plenty to do clubs, bars, parties, movies, cafes, resturaunts, etc.
- City or large town or college town
- somewhat prestigious- top 100 for shure.
- City or large town or college town
-8000+ students

I really want a college experience - parties/ outgoing people. I do not want to go somewhere where everyone operates like robots studying. I rather go to a school with a "work hard" play hard(er)" mentality haha.

Stats:
B+ average right now most liekly a 3.3-3.4, 2030 SAT(aiming for 2150 SAT) African American, from NJ,top 25% rank. 80 hours community service, 2 leader positions in club, varsity letter.

I never really cared about my grades until junior year/procrastinated and I really regret that. I do have an upward trend and this senior year I am taking 4 APs and 1 honors. I am trying to get straight A's the first semester(classes I am really interested in) Hoping that will help boost me up. I really wanna go somehwere prestigious and I am just hoping it is not "too little too late".

What can your family afford?

Money is not really an issue so anywhere within reason is fine. Nothing on the very far west coast either
thanks in advance guys!

bumpppp pease hepp guys!

Any academic interests :P

How about the University of Michigan or Penn State?

Or UW-Madison

You should go talk to your high school counselor. He or she should help you make up a list. Your high school probably has college guides such as Fiske or Princeton (two of the best) that you can page through.

Rutgers, TCNJ, Fordham, …

I have no clue what I wanna do probably will go undecided. I like math and sicnece(no chem) and possibly want to do somethign in that or medicine maybe finance? so a school that is all around well rounded would be nice!

My Guidance counselor didn’t really help me at all… :x

Sorry to hear that. Then I suggest you buy Fiske and/or Princeton guides. Reading the descriptions will help you pick schools to apply to. What do you think of the suggestions we’ve made in this thread?

I second Umich, Uwisc, and Penn State
Other schools to consider:

Rutgers
Ohio State
UT Austin
UIllinois
Mizzou
Notre Dame-REACH

Northeastern University
George Washington University
Fordham University
Villanova

Honestly, thank you all so much . The suggestions most of you have made sound like really good fits. I kinda wanna escape NJ after being here so long haha. But I am researching all of the suggestions you have made as we speak. I think I am also going to go to the library and see if I can check out one of Princeton’s guide books. If you guys could suggest any reach schools as well that would be great!

I really like UMich , but I am not sure if my grades would get me in- especially being OOS. Do you think it is best to apply Early action for UMich, or boost my senior grades and just do Regular Desicion?

The only advantage of applying Early Action is that if they admit you, you’ll know before Christmas that you got in. Michigan’s web page says that you do not have a better chance of being admitted Early Action.

[Office of Undergraduate Admissions: Early Action](http://www.admissions.umich.edu/prospective/applying/earlyresponse.php)

You might consider Penn and Northwestern as reach schools.

University of Connecticut

Nothing wrong with reaches but Penn and Northwestern would be extremely difficult with your numbers. Some more schools to look at:

U Del
Pitt
Maryland
U Miami (FL)
UGA
Florida State
Temple
Indiana
DePaul
Colorado (Boulder)
U of Denver

I second University of Colorado, Boulder and University of Denver.
