Help a Rising Senior With Her College Search?

Lewis & Clark is near to Reed, and is less selective and less quirky. If you like Reed, please please apply to UChicago! It’s amazing! Also second Wash U, and you might look into Wesleyan (it’s similar to Vassar). Maybe look at Bard, it’s in a small town but it a great school. Really this may sound bad, but just go through the US News ranking of LAC’s and find ones you like based on location and school identity (student body, school vibe, school motto) and make a giant list. As you determine where you want to go to school and what types of schools you need on your list (safety, match, reach) remove school. That’s what I did anyway.

Barnard College is connected with Columbia which means you’ll have very easy access to guys. It’s probably a lower reach school, but definitely worth applying to since it does have an excellent English program, and access to all that Columbia U has to offer. Plus it fits your criteria of easy access to a city.
