please help!! any schools in the northeast/mid-atlantic region, im looking for mostly liberal arts schools that are the most prestigious for my stats.
For those stats, and for science, University of Scranton is hard to beat. Muhlenberg as well.
You could also look at Union College or Franklin & Marshall.
Maybe even Lafayette, maybe.
Union, Trinity, St. Lawrence, Wheaton. These colleges will lead you to others.
You need to look at the SUNYs (Stony Brook, etc). How much can your family afford?
We looked at a number of LACs with my D that seem to fit your profile – Union,Franklin & Marshall, Muhlenberg, Dickinson, Fairfield, Trinity,Lafayette, and Siena as a safety. We also visited Skidmore but she didn’t feel the school emphasized the STEM fields. FYI many of LACs like to see some demonstrated interested.
And agree that adding some SUNY choices in if price is an issue. Binghamton and Geneseo are reaches but Stony Brook and SUNY New Paltz are bigger than LACs but might be an option.
You might want to consider some of the test-optional LACs. There are a bunch of them in the Northeast, some of which have already been mentioned: http://www.fairtest.org/sites/default/files/Optional-Schools-in-U.S.News-Top-Tiers.pdf
If you can afford better, and if you are in NY, doesn’t seem like the public school system has options as good as the other schools listed here unless you go for utilitarian campuses. Until the public system can find a way to improve the student faculty ratio, there are better choices out there for those who can afford them.
Boston University & Villanova are strong possibilities especially if you are full pay,Fairfield typically offers $15,000 merit to most students with acceptance letter, Trinity is a reach and but expect no merit money, Clark U in Worcester,Mass, possibly Holy Cross, Bates is test optional. Good Luck!
