Help A Slow Reader Get A 29/30

Any tips for a slow reader to achieve a 29/30 on the reading section of the ACT?

I read every passage in about 4 min., and when I get to the questions, I tend to take forever on each question, constantly looking back to the passage (which wastes time). Any tips to get through the questions faster?

I took 3 practice reading tests from PR 1296, and I am always getting a 27. How do I get over the "hump" to get my score up to a 29/30? I am not hoping to get any higher, considering that reading isn't really my strong subject.

You may want to look at the Princeton Review Crash Course for the ACT.

It gives a convincing argument and sound strategy on how to do the Reading and Science sections without actually reading the entire sections.

^^^ Have you tried the strategies? If so, what score did you get on the ACT by using those strategies?

Honestly, I’m not quite sure how far away the next ACT is but if you read news paper articles/a few books the month before you will notice a little better reading speed/comprehension.

I have not tried them but you should and see how they work for you on practice tests.

thanks guys! and i will look into buying the crash course book for the 5-6 days before the ACT…

any other people have some good reading tips for someone like me who is taking the ACT next week?
