I need help finding a good ACT test prep book. I heard PR: Cracking the ACT was helpful, but when I logged on amazon to buy it; many reviews weren't positive, and someone posted that their grade dropped by 5 points after using the book. Also, what do you think about the Cliffs: ACT prep book? I got it a couple of months ago- but I am kind of hesitant to use it because I've heard there are mistakes and the answer explanations are horrible. Finally, I am taking the October test- is that enough time to finally prep from now to october or am way over my head? Should I schedule for november?

Barron’s ACT 36 helped me out a lot. It’s most beneficial if you understand how the test works and are aiming for a score of 31+
I prepped in about 2 weeks beforehand reading the big red ACT book (I forgot the name but its put out by the people who make the ACT test). Along with Barron’s ACT 36.

That way you have a test-prep book along with legit practice tests.

Best of luck to you!

I recommend using
The Real Act(red book)
PR cracking the ACT
and PR 1296 questions.

I recommend taking the practice test online before you start prepping, so you can see what the test is like.
Then leave the Red Book practice tests till the last 2-3 weeks of prepping, so you can see how you’re actually doing, compared to the PR prepping.
