Csdad2–Take a look at Forbes 2016 list of top ranked colleges.

You’ll see there are several highly ranked LAC’s in the Midwest - though not in the order you reported.

Carleton is the highest ranked of the Midwest schools. Grinnell is (not top tier and positioned as you indicated). It is ranked after Oberlin-43, Kenyon-48 and Macalester-68. Grinnell is actually-73.

Swowy12 If you are considering schools based on national ranking and prominence you should make yourself familiar with the independent rankings. All the schools mentioned above are great. Specific interest in a course of study and campus visit will likely be a much better indication of potential future happiness than ranking. These rankings are generally consistent, but within a range of 20 are spots very close and which rank higher is based on very subjective considerations.
Meet the students, professors and see how you feel on campus.

Check out all the NESCAC schools too!

I would take any single ranking with a huge grain of salt. The quality differences between schools 10, 20 even 30 points apart may not be significant and may not reflect your personal priorities … though as the gap widens, you may want to ask some additional questions. Look at more than one ranking and if there’s a consistent, major disparity, dig down a little to see its source. It might reflect endowment size or alumni engagement – rather than, say, academic quality. Find out if the differences matter to YOU.

@wolfmoon88 Yeah I noticed… haha @underhillstab @porcupine98 Thank you!
