Maybe you can help! We cannot figure this scholarship question out. S applied EA (and has been accepted). He just mailed in the Dean's Honor Scholarship application today. NOW. How does the notification work? The Admission Table for 2004-05 that I have before me indicates: Distinguished Scholars/Founders Scholarship Winners will be announced (for Ed/EA) January 1st. However, Dean's Honor Scholarship Winners will not be announced until February 20th. IF by chance you will be getting the Dean's, do you hear anything at all January 1st? (i.e., if you hear nothing January 1st, is that a good sign that you will be getting the Dean's, if anything?) ALSO, if you DO hear something January 1st, does that then mean that you will NOT be getting the Dean's?
I have looked the viewbook and website over, and cannot find any reference to this. Also, how do you receive word of a scholarship, via mail or e-mail?
Thanks for helping.

Sorry to jump in here with a question but we are confused. What type of project are they looking for on the DHS? Not sure what they are asking for and how involved it should be?

Congratulations to your son Tabby!!! No doubt he and my son will be haunting the same buildings should he decide to attend. The Distinguished Scholars and Founders are announced January 1st (I think my son's letter came during the first couple of weeks). If your son wins one of the DHS scholarships, he will undoubtedly qualify for the DSA, so he should receive a letter stating that he has been awarded the DSA and that should he be chosen for the DHS he will be notified and it will replace the DSA that he has been awarded. DHS winners may be contacted by phone. I'm not sure. Concerneddad will have to answer that one.

Congratulations again! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you on the scholarship!

Thanks so much, Along~. You are a wealth of information! Thanks also for the good wishes. S really, really likes Tulane but realizes that there must be a scholarship in order for him to attend. He has applied at UTx, UFlorida, Auburn, and a couple others.
I will post immediately when/if we hear anything. I am rather relieved that all that "stuff" has been mailed and it's all over but the waiting. Thanks again!!

tabby, I would have said the same thing that along said. After my son applied for the Dean's he got a letter awarding him the distinguished and noting that he was still in the hunt for the Dean's. Sometime in Feb. he got a phone call from Dean Davis telling him he had been awarded the dean's.

Congrats to your son on his admission.
