Help! Ambiguous wording on internship application

Hi everyone, I am applying for an internship at a senator's office. On the application it says that I need to, "attach a short (500 words) statement about your expectations of an internship program, and your goals for your participation in the program."

I am confused by what exactly they want me to discuss. Do they want me to:

a) Discuss my general expectations that I would have for any intership program, along with what my goals would be in this program.

b) Discuss my expectations for their program and my goals for their program.

c) Something else?

Regardless of the answer, I'm still a bit perplexed as to what exactly they are looking for in this essay. Does anybody have any experience in this type of thing? I am in a business major and I am looking to incorporate those interests in the internship--is this something that I should talk about?

Thank you for any help. Sorry if there too many questions in there!

It sounds very clear that it is choice a. You can discuss some of the things you wish to gain from an internship program (maybe experience, knowledge, and/or professionalism in your field). Then you can talk about the specifics of their program and explain what you wish to get out of it.
