Help an Asian find match and safeties?

Hello hello,

I'm currently an Asian Junior looking for match/safety schools to apply to...I'm just hoping to see if anyone can recommend a few for me to do a bit more research on?
(gosh this sounds like one of those 'hot singles in your area' ads)

Currently, two schools I want to apply to for sure are UC Berkeley and NYU.
I really hope to go into math or finance, and work for a non-profit.

Stats:
Ethnicity: Asian (Chinese)
Sex: Male
Country: Canada (international...uhhh)

SATI: 2200
SATII: To be taken in May

Full IB Diploma
HL Math (predicted 7)
HL English (6)
HL Econ (6 or 7)
SL Physics (7)
SL Chem (7)
SL French (7)
Up to now, I've maintained a 95-ish average.

EC's:
Senior Math Club President
Yearbook Editor in Chief
Interact Club President (Youth division of Rotary International, a service organization)
Canadian Cancer Society Student Ambassador
Photography (just individually...)

Summer:
Full time warehouse volunteer at a non-profit (2 summers)
Intern at an state-owned company in China
Lots of photography

These seem pretty all over the place, but I'm an immigrant from China, and when I got to Canada I really didn't know anyone. After joining yearbook and starting to learn photography so many windows opened up for me: I gained the confidence to approach random people and talk and join new clubs, etc. Since then one of my major passions has been helping people one-on-one, and getting to know people on a closer, individual level, especially high school freshmen, to make sure they don't have to be as miserable as I was when I first got to high school. That sort of explains the photography and philanthropy part of it; as for math club, I just really like math! I'm a pretty strong speaker/presenter and I have a thing for learning languages (sort of), so hopefully I'll land a job where math and linguistics meet up.

Awards:
A few misc. math awards...bombed the AMC ):
Sony World Photography Awards commended photographer(top 50) in youth culture category
Scholastic Art and Writing 3 gold keys 3 silver keys (which means I did okay at the regional level, but not so much at the 'national' level)

Thanks for taking the time to read everything :)

Sorry for not including this above:

Some criteria to consider:
Intended field of study: mathematics/finance
Size: small/medium
Location: disregard
Price tag: disregard

hey dude, i would really like to help you, but im the same age so you’re my competition!
just kiddin. im only familiar with california schools so, USC would be a match and so would UCSD. UCLA would be high match, all other UC’s are safety to low match

Did you ever consider applying to UK colleges? With your predicted grades I think you have a great chance at top British colleges too.

You should be able to get into Cal and NYU. Some other good matches: UCLA, USC, Boston College, Northeastern, U of M, UVa, Vandy, Emory.

Reasonable reaches: Cornell, Northwestern, Duke, Notre Dame

@Futurefocused, I see how it is! But yeah, definitely looking into the UC family of schools. Maybe I’ll even see you there!

@hihello991, hmm…I hear the weather can be really terrible, which is quite the irrational turn-off. Some want 776 on the HLs…probably not happening haha!

@Bubblesforsale, huge thanks for the advice! & Uh, still facing the issue of having too many good matches to apply to.

NYU Stern: Match
Berkeley Haas: Match (can you pay full-freight to an UC?)

Are you sure U Toronto Rotman, McGill Desautels or UBC Sauder are no good? Or any of these three are your absolute safeties?

I’m pretty sure this thread goes [College Search & Selection - College Confidential](College Search & Selection - College Confidential Forums)

I think UCLA, NYU, and Emory are good fits! Good luck!
