Hello, I am from Brazil and I'm planning to apply this year for an american university, I've never taked the SAT before and I have to take the TOELF too, right?

I'm planning to take at least 2 SATs till the end of the year, depending to the scores of the 1st, maybe I take the SAT Subject Test on the 2nd. I have some knowledge in calculus 1 and 2 and I think I'll have a good score in math, I am afraid about the essay and the grammar questions, but I will do my best ! I am reading the Gruber's complete SAT guide 2009, is this book a good prep. book? Anyone knows it ?

Moreover, I am afraid about somethings that I will put here and I would like to see your opinion:

1st) I am out of the college for almost 2 years now ( I finished the equivalent of the highschool here in dez. 2010) so will be very hard to get recommendation letters from my teachers... Can I ask a recommendation letter from an english teacher, for example ? Or has it to be a letter from a college teacher? P.S.: I'm 20 y.o.

2nd) My highschool scores wasn't toooooo good (but wans'nt too bad, too), I think I'm in the average, can I get into a good college with it ?

3rd) I will not apply for financial aid ( I think ever if I would, I couldn't)

hmmm I would like to say that I also speak german and spanish, will it help me? And I've Germany Citizen.

I would like to know, also, if is too hard be transfered to a better college, if I don't get in the college I want to...

Thank you ^^/
