It has been really fun to follow this thread - great humor on a subject that can definitely use more humor. It also seems fair, however, that students/families feel free to use CC as a resource to consider the merits of different schools.

“The Pope’s children”??? Folks, I am not Catholic, but even I know that the Pope shouldn’t have any kids. Perhaps he sends his nieces and nephews to Canterbury or Portsmouth Abbey…And if he did have kids, even if he had gone to a “Tier 1” elementary school, middle school, boarding school, and theological seminary, he probably wouldn’t get to be Pope…but he does speak many languages, and I bet he has great EC’s, and certainly doesn’t need, FA, so you never know…

Yes, this thread has been a lot of fun! :)

Didn’t you read the Dan Brown book? I think it was in Angels and Demons that talked about the Pope having a son? Are you telling me that the book is Ficton? WHAT??? :)
But of COURSE the Pope needs FA, don’t Priests take a vow of poverty?

You are all my children. Bless you. Go forth and multiply.

If the Pope gets FA, then I want double. I have seen his house and I think he’s hiding his assets on the SSS!

i’d consider exeter if you’re thinking wall street

this is HILARIOUS!!!:D

I’m very sorry for going off topic (that never happens on message baords!
). It’s not that you can’t wait to be King - it’s President.

But since you want to a career on Wall Street and to become the President, I think you should pick a school with a formal dress code since you’ll have to wear a suit every day to work you might as well get used to it early.
What is the dress code at each of these schools? Does anyone know? I can’t find information about dress codes ANYWHERE on this board…How about non-school hours? Does one of them require ties in the evening during study hall and free time? THAT’S the school you should pick.

Not going anywhere if dress code doesn’t include papal vestments.

which school drives their sports teams to games in tour buses full of the goodies you see the rappers and rock stars using? need satellite television and full kitchen or i do not leave campus.

Ummm…NMH does but you didn’t apply there. For transporting smaller teams, they have their fleet of half-size buses (I think almost all of the schools have these). For moving the larger teams…football!..I have seen some schools use the traditional yellow schoolbus (so uncomfortable)…but I more often see private schools use coach buses.

are you kidding? please tell me you are kidding.

Who would kid about such a serious issue?

andover had the Bushes
exeter had Kennedy

that’s what i heard somewhere

nhfootballer has it right. Why should students at an elite BS even considering slumming in a mere motor coach? Don’t even get me started on yellow buses, which just scream (shudder) “public school.” Without a full kitchen or satellite TV, what are the athletes supposed to do for the whole drive? Just sit there and think? Listen to iPods? Please. That is so two years ago.

If a school can’t transport its athletes in style, it’s not worthy of the term “elite” and therefore not worthy of my progeny.

nhfootballer, I can’t wait to hear where you’ll be studying next year. You have started a great thread.

The buses really are just a peek into the school atmosphere in general. If you can’t treat your athletes right as they’re traveling for upwards of 20 minutes, then how bad is everything else on campus? I sure hope that the pool is filled with Evian, at a minimum! Fiji water would be better, but I’m not a snob.

“The” pool? As in only one? Please.

Got me, there, Lax! I guess I’m showing how poor and small-minded I really am.

Andover had bushes

Choate had Kennedy

thanks plantfan. the this vs. that posts started to drive me nuts. i just got in a mood for satire.
