i registered for 4 courses (honors bio, intro psyc, chem I, calc 408k), total 13 hours, for the 2009 fall semester but i feel like i need to take another course to add some more hours. the professor at the natural science meeting recommended us to take 14-16 hours per semester, so i figured that i'd better take his advice by taking an easy course in addition to four other required courses.. i wanted to register for a PE course, such as beginning tennis or tae kwon do, but they are ALL already closed.. i'd really appreciate any comments or advice..thanks!!!

oh and also are there any general requirments good to take in freshman year?

Take a look at CC306M taught by George Doig. The 8:00 a.m. class is still open.

C C 306M INTRO TO MEDCL & SCIENTIF TERM

A SYSTEMATIC STUDY OF MEDICAL AND SCIENTIFIC TERMINOLOGY BASED ON GREEK AND LATIN ROOTS. NO KNOWLEDGE OF GREEK OR LATIN IS REQUIRED. CLASSICAL CIVILIZATION 306M AND 336M MAY NOT BOTH BE COUNTED.

The average GPA is 3.55 with a grade distribution is 64% A’s, 23% B’s.

how do you know that CC306M is gonna be taught by George Doig? I am currently registered for that class for 8 am but it doesn’t have an instructors name on the registrar thing.

Oops, George Doig may not be teaching CC306M anymore.

Steven Jones taught it in Fall 2008 and Spring 2009. Jones has a 90% Excellent/Very Good rating in the UT Course - Instructor surveys submitted by 376 out of the 737 students that took this course.

Historically, CC306M has been an easy course with a very high distribution of A’s and B’s.

Well, it depends on how well you’re prepared for college. I know a lot of people who want to start off easy for their first semester. Some try for a harder schedule but realized that they weren’t ready for college work.

But yea, take Jones for CC306m. He’s one of the funniest teachers ever. On the quizes, it’s easy to get 90’s but very difficult to get 97+. I know he’s better than Doig. I knew a lot of people who complained about him.

If you can, try to take Salinas for Psy. One of the easiest classes I’ve taken. Make sure you register early for that class. He’s hard to get into.

i’ve decided to take BIO 205L =P. i’m worried that my schedule is bit tough…
Do you think my schedule (honors bio, intro psyc, chem I, calc 408k, bio 205L) is too much for freshman first semester?

How’s Lewis for psy? i’m in a FIG group that requires psy as one of the courses, so i didn’t have much choice on most of my classes.
