I took both the ap chem and ap psych test on the same day, it sucked my brain was shot after. So I just wanted to get out of there and go home, I was so happy that this ordeal was over and I was pretty sure I got fives on both tests. Happy day right? I thought so until the next day. I looked in my bag and saw that I had accidentally taken the essay portion of my psych test with me. I had no idea I could have been that stupid but I had just taken two ap tests so don’t judge. So I went and told my counselor and I was told that he would have to report it to college board. But what really ****es me off is that he knows me and knows I wouldn’t cheat and all the ap tests were just sitting on his desk. Couldnt he have just put my test in the pile? I understand that it would have given me an unfair advantage if I had looked at it but I didn’t so shouldn’t be an issue. So my counselor/proctor sent a note saying that he believes I didn’t cheat and that I reported it right away and that the test wasn’t in my position for long. Do you think that I will be ok since I got this note from the proctor of the test? And will they grade it but just without the essay? Because then I could at least get a decent score. Who could I contact to make sure my test is scored? Please help!

So wait what is OTI and how do I be careful? Is that who my counseler called because he had to send in a form that explained the situation. And if I retake that then I will know what’s on it so that doesn’t make sense.

You’ll have a different free response to do, if you have to retake it. Your counselor did the right thing; everything is in CB’s hands now. Did you take the green insert or the pink booklet?

Well we had a new person proctoring the tests so she really didn’t know what’s she was doing, and I took both the green insert and the pink booklet because she said we could take the green insert home, so I accidentally grabbed them both at the same time.

Well that in itself is a violation of CB policy because you can’t take the green insert home. The proctors hold them for 48 hours and then distribute them to your teachers once the free response embargo is lifted.

If it’s true the proctor said you could take the green insert home, you are somewhat relieved from the full brunt of taking the pink insert home also, it seems to me. The fact that both were together makes it more believable that you grabbed both and headed out. The fact the proctor didn’t count the pink booklets before dismissing the class all also makes her or his hand somewhat liable in this commission. The proctor will face ETS questioning too.

I can tell you’re sweating it. But if what you say about the new proctor is true, I think you can relax a little bit more on how this will play out for you. Most likely you will have to re write the pink frq from a different test at a future date.

In my experience (the ETS lost my essay - ask my guidance counselor, I’m not kidding) I had to retake the Late-Testing form of the exam but just Part 2. (The ETS ended up finding my essays in one of their warehouses……)

I just took a make up AP test and something on the test made me think of this thread…
I’m sorry, they are probably not going to be very lenient…When you sign the exam material with your initials (which is as good, legally as normal scrip) you agree to the four or five bullet list items above. One of those states, paraphrasing, “I will not (or agree?) take this test booklet out of the room.” So even though your proctor is definitely at fault for giving those instructions, you were told to read those rules and then sign in compliance. Sorry
