lol the funny thing is, after i got accepted to my safety i was like ok i can take like 8 of the schools off my list b/c they were basically safeties too, but i just never did cuz i'm still paranoid that i'll be rejected to every school :(

i'd soooooo rather be rejected everywhere else and get accepted to princeton than to be rejected @ princeton and accepted everywhere else.

im applying to 12ish.. and yeah i would rather get into princeton and get rejected everywhere else.. but then i'd probably get really paranoid and think that they made some kind of mistake... xx
letter in mail: "thank you for applying and congratulations on your recent acceptance. unfortunately, due to some random error, we must take back our offer of admission and......"

You are simply insecure if you need NINE safeties. I mean, I have one safety, two safe matches (to which I'd be perfectly happy to go), one match, and three reaches, with my biggest reach being Stanford RD.

I can understand the fear, but everyone I've talked to has said their biggest regret is not having more reach schools. So what I did was find one safety that was nearly 100% guaranteed and that I liked enough to be reluctantly willing to go there. Then after that it was basically places where I had a decent chance but also liked.

If I were you, I'd cut your list down to two safeties, two matches, and keep all the reaches. Then submit your apps after receiving your Princeton letter. In fact, I'm choosing to mail my check for Stanford on the 15th, and if I get a positive letter from New Jersey, then I'll just cancel the check and Stanford can deal with it. I can't believe that some people spend nearly a thousand dollars in applications...

my parents are poops and canceled the college visiting trip. they were like "it makes more sense if you visit AFTER you get accepted" and i was like EAT ME (or something like that). so now i'm stuck applying to a lot of schools i think i would want to go to... blahfhd stupid
