HELP Best illustration University

Hello, I'm an international student that is finishing high school next year. I want to apply to a illustration course but, as I don't know much about universities in the US (even though I made a lot of research), I need some help. My current options are: RISD (kinda expensive), Ringling (each day my love for this school becomes bigger), SCAD (the campus life is something that I've been dreaming since I started my research, plus I really like the concept art minor) and SVA (NY is kinda expensive so I don't really see this as a viable option).
Which one is the best? Should I look at any other university?

MICA, UArts, Pratt, SAIC and a second look at SVA.

I’m a fan of MICA and UArts especially.

Would you mind telling me why you’re a fan of MICA and UArts?

@Caiocxs‌ - both have strong illustration programs with working artists that are succeeding in the business. UArts is a tough but effective program. My S goes there and they lack in effectively helping a student with learning disabilities which interests me because one of their most stand out alumni is open about his dyslexia. But it’s a really good school in the heart of the 5 largest city in the country.

But I have to say, we liked the MICA illustration program better but chose UARTS for a couple additional reasons which made it the right school for us overall.

D is a senior at MICA in Illustration. They have an excellent program, good placement and a good school vibe. D wanted rigor but not cutthroat and has been very happy with her professors and overall experience. She likes that they have a campus unlike some schools in the middle of NY or Chicago and the facilities are first rate.

I have the opportunity to talk to industry professionals (two press junket visits to DreamWorks). Since my daughter is interested in animation or illustration, I talk with them. Ringling seems to be gaining a LOT of respect from those in the industry.

Ringling is well known for its superb computer animation program. Their illustration program is also good but not as distinguished. They traditionally give very little merit aid, if cost is a consideration. For a more traditional, straight-up illustration program, I’d stick with Art Center, MICA, SVA, or RISD. MICA is aggressive when it comes to luring the most talented kids with generous merit aid packages.
