Help! Billing Question

This may sound silly, but…

I am entering Brown this fall and was wondering if they send a paper bill, or am I just supposed to keep checking bannerweb for account updates?

Thanks!

They send a paper bill.

They’ve been talking about eliminating the paper bills, but as of now, they have not. Our statement is always dated around the 16 of the month, so I have been checking the statement around then, but the bill has also been arriving just about the same time. I would guess that it will eventually stop coming in the mail, but as of two days ago, it is still coming in the mail as well as being posted.

So, should we expect our first bill (for our family portion of the entire first semester) about mid-month in July? Or August?

I know for current ugrads the bill comes out Monday 22 June 2009. To see if your financial aid thing is ready:

https://financialaid.brown.edu/Cmx_Content.aspx?cpId=49</a> .

supportivemom-- the bill that you (we!) will get in a little while is the whole bill for the first semester, not just the family part. It will include the student’s contribution, and it will indicate what, if any, financial aid you will receive. It is up to you to decide if, in fact, you will have your child pay the amount Brown is suggesting, or more, or less. They don’t care who writes the check, as long as it’s written. It will also indicate whatever outside scholarships your child will receive, even if the school has not received those payments yet. They will be entered as “memos.”

supportivemom: Since the payment for first semester is due Aug. 1, the bill will before then.

I think, franglish, that if you signed up for online billing, we will (eventually) stop getting paper snail mail bills, and just get an email telling us that there is a bill available to be viewed online. (We just got a paper statement on Friday that didn’t have next year’s charges on it.)
