I am a freshman ,I wanna major in the accounting next semester, I faced a decesion to choose the Binghamton University(SUNY) or Baruch College(CUNY), can you guys give me some advices to choose which one , or recommend some other pulic college in New York State for me ,thanks

have the same question as a transfer student=]

Honestly, you are comparing apples and oranges.

Baruch won't give you a "traditional" college experience. There are no dorms that I am aware of. Almost all the folks commute. Binghamton has dorms and most folks live on campus.

Moreover, Binghamton is known for its liberal arts offerings. They are probably stronger than Baruch in liberal arts.

However, for business and especially accounting and finance, Baruch blows Binghamton away. This is particularly true for the price of tuition. Baruch has a bigger alumni base for business too.

Moreover, Binghamton is well... in Binghamton with nothing to do. Baruch is in Manhattan. It is a great place to go to school. NYC is a very stimulating environment.

Bottom Line: both have VERY different cultures. You need to visit each schools and evaluate the financial costs. Baruch is probably better for business , not to mention less expensive,IF you are willing to give up the "traditional" college experience.
