Help! Boston College vs. Vanderbilt

Right now I'm deciding between Vanderbilt and Boston College. I love both of them and there are pros and cons for each. I'm planning on majoring in biology and minor in African Studies (I want to study abroad in Tanzania). Vanderbilt doesn't have an African Studies major though, it's geared more towards African Amercian studies which is interesting but not what I'm looking for. However, I absolutely love Vanderbilt and I would commit right away if it wasn't for the minor problem. I have the ability to "create my own major" but I have a feeling that could be messy. Boston College has my major and my minor. I love the city and the campus, but I don't know about the weather. I'm not a huge fan of winter. Do any of you have any suggestions? My parents are making me decide by Monday : (

Well, if your a guy, maybe you want to take into account vanderbilt has the hottest girls anywhere

Minors aren't very relevant. The presence or absence of one won't ever impact your future. If you can find the coursework you'd like at Vandy - whether in a self-created major or minor or just on its own, then don't worry about the minor thing.

Also, Boston College isn't in Boston, it's in the suburbs, all the way at the end of one of the subway lines. Does that make a difference to you one way or another?

Boston College is in the suburb but the students there do go downtown to party.

I'd pick Vanderbilt. You like it better, and honestly, the campus life is more vibrant and exciting there anyway.

Minors don't matters, really. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, I could definitely see someone regretting choosing a college that's clearly inferior to another one they got into because the minor wasn't offered.

In other words, go to Vanderbilt.

Thanks everyone for your help..I decided on vandy!
