I am from Bahrain and got into BU, UCSD, and UCSB for Political Science. I am having trouble choosing between the three because I never pictured myself actually going to any of these schools. These were my safety schools, and I am incredibly disappointed in myself for not getting into UCLA, UCB, or NYU. I am going through a deep depression because of these rejections, and I even considered giving up on my future and just staying in Bahrain. After gaining back some motivation, I am definitely going to attempt to transfer to these schools, and possibly to Ivy League schools (I know the chances are slim to none for transfer students, but hey, it’s worth a shot).
I do not necessarily have a preference for the atmosphere or community of the school I will go to, I simply want to have the best chances for transferring. Also, in the case transferring won’t work out, I want the school to give me the best opportunity to attend law school at those colleges (UCB, UCLA, NYU, Ivies).
I am attracted to the ample internship opportunity at BU through their alumni program. I know that UCs hold more weight among UCs, but I am afraid of putting all my eggs in a basket. If I do go to UCSB or UCSD in the hopes of transferring to UCLA or UCB, and I don’t get admission, I am afraid I will throw away the internship opportunities found at BU that would assist in getting into a highly regarded law school. I keep running through these circles in my head and need to hear a second opinion. What school do you think I should choose to transfer from and/or which one leads the way to a highly regarded law school? If there’s any additional information that could provide more clarity, I would love to hear it.
