My essays:

Common app = I focus in on how being a young entrepreneur has changed my life.

The pg 217 essay = I wrote about selling a business to Google for a crap load of money - but I go through my thought process which showed that money was not my priority - I wanted to make sure my customers, employees, and business were going to continue to prosper without me; In the end I use my buyout $ to start a VC firm/Charity that invests in underdeveloped areas

Communities @ Penn: entrepreneurship, work on the Wharton Journal (and redesign their website - I attached a pretty kickass mockup of a possible design), and Penn International Business Volunteers

Heard about my counselor rec: it ended with "one of the best in my 35 years..."

Other important EA acceptances: Georgetown (McDonough), Boston College (Honors, Carroll School of Management)

GAH! - I'm a nervous wreck since Wharton's incoming class is already ~50% full :[

- - bump - - -

Great EC’s but borderline test scores

Reach, I wouldn’t be surprised if you got accepted, but those scores are your weakest point (and as much as they don’t like to admit it, Ivies DO place a significant value on the numbers)

On the fence. It may help a lot if you do well on your interview.

Agree with above posters. Your ECs are really business oriented, and show commitment…but your SAT reasoning score is a tad bit low. Low reach I’d say.

17% increase in apps this year for upenn, hope that calms you down a bit?

but who knows if youll get in, unless your name is on a building or two. Just wait and see what happens.

Thanks everybody. I’m a bit more confident but who knows what will happen.

My interview went pretty well. I ran into my interviewer at a school function (his son goes to my HS) and he said his report was “overwhelmingly positive”- it didnt hurt that my school’s president started this same event by showing a marketing video I made for the school and then spent a few minutes praising my contributions to the school community - all in front of my interviewer :D

@ crazylights Lucky you. I didn’t even get an interview. T_T
