<p>Hi!I'm currently a freshman in college thats trying to go to Oberlin next fall and I think I've done everything I can to try and get admitted.
Here are my stats:
*College GPA-3.24
*ACT-23
*Numerous high school and college extracurriculars including a Senate internship and another internship this winter at a CEOs office for a school district.
*A professor that I'm close to at Oberlin is writing a letter of rec for me as well,and I've had an on campus interview.
*My essays are great,and I know that'll be a crucial part in the admissions decision.</p>
<p>The reason why I'm worried is because my GPA isn't so great,and my ACT from last year is definitly not that great.
What do you think would be my chances of getting in?I don't actually apply until March,so I still have time to strengthen my application.</p>
<p>Oberlin is pretty selective and your GPA might hurt you. I imagine your chances aren't great because of that and your ACT, but hopefully you can shine through your EC's and rec's.</p>
<p>My sister goes to Oberlin, and she knows some people who have gotten in with rather low GPAs; but they all applied for freshman admission and they applied ED. I think the fact that you have a rec from an Oberlin prof and you have had an interview on campus probably shows that you are very interested in Oberlin, in the way that a first year student shows that they are very interested through applying ED or EA. So, I think you have a fighting chance, despite the GPA and ACT score.</p>
