Help CCers!

I have been accepted to five decent colleges (aka if you have a pulse you could get in) and rejected from my dream college Sarah Lawrence. However, I have done well this senior year and will continue to do so next year in college, so I can hopefully transfer for sophomore year. So my question is; which school is the best to transfer into Sarah Lawrence or similar LACs? The colleges are Evergreen State College, Arizona State University, Washington State University, and Alfred University. I'm kind of leaning towards Evergreen because I'm from WA and it's a local college, however, I don't know how well I will be able to transfer out and if the academics will be good enough for someone who wants to be an English major. Thank you! :D

Wazzou and ASU are the top choices - what are the financial considerations. All things being equal I would say Wazzou if there is an in state low cost incentive. ASU if money is not a factor

Thank you so much for replying! I haven’t been sent financial aid packages from Evergreen, WSU, and ASU, so I’m in the midst of contacting them. Finances are a big part in what college I accept - do you think I should rule out ASU? My only worry about WSU is that it’s all the way in Eastern Washington and not too close to any big cities, while for ASU I have family in Phoenix and am quite familiar with the area.

I’d think that Evergreen State would be fine. It’d also be a very similar culture and vibe. In fact, if you look on ESC’s PrincetonReview.com page, the “Similar Schools” list says “Students who considered Evergreen also looked at:” and lists Sarah Lawrence among the comparables. SAT scores at Evergreen and Ariz State are nearly identical.

You’re Welcome!

Actually I think ASU is the best choice on your list in terms of academic quality. Now that you told me you have family there - I am thinking it could cut on your dorm costs depending on how close they are.

I would still want to know all the $$ factors. If there is a way ASU becomes cheaper if family is an option for housing than I would seriously consider it.
