<p>Unlike the ambiguity that surrounds qualification for African American/Latino status, there are clear cut rules for what can qualify you as a Native American for college admissions. I would look them up and follow them. Obviously you can augment your already tremendous diversity advantage by writing a great essay that plays on that theme. If well done, that would really be a sight to behold. You fit all the desired demographic categories (you’re low income and first-gen as well, right?). However, if for some reason you don’t think you can top your application off with a poignant and humble essay on this theme (it sounds tricky, and I can easily imagine this task botched), I would play it safe and just write about something you’re comfortable writing about.</p>
<p>And it’s not something appropriate for the Additional Information section, which is usually reserved for extenuating information relating to poor academics and such.</p>
