HELP!!+Chance and Guide!

I am currently a Freshman in HS.

I have an UW GPA of 3.7 and a W GPA of 4.6
I have so far taken one AP Class and have two B+'s both in Algebra II.
I (know) that I got a 5 on the AP Exam; I called in. My extracurricular activities include:
2 Plays/1 Musical
Varsity Tennis
Speech Team
Scholastic Bowl
and the International Thespian Society.
I haven't taken the ACT/SAT yet, and am planning to do most of the Science/Math based SAT Subject two test.
I am starting to volunteer at the Alexian Brothers by us over the summer.
I WILL GET MY UW GPA up-at least to 3.9 by senior year.
What else do you guys rec for me to get into Harvard? I REALLY WANNA DO PREMED HERE!!!

1) Calm down
2) Take the SAT/ACT
3) Then people will chance

Ok, thanks for that. But just because my UW GPA is very low they wouldn’t not accept me correct? ACT and SAT also play a big role?
Thanks :)

An UW GPA of 3.7 won’t keep an otherwise strong applicant out, IMO.

Besides, you have 2 years to bring it up.

For premed, you have to demonstrate your interest in science.

Volunteer at a hospital, get an internship, and belong to a society related to the subject. Also, having an award in science or math helps.

In addition, remember that harvard is not the only option ;)

your stats are pretty week though, IMO

College Board says AP scores for 2012 won’t be available (even by phone) until July 1. It’s always a little dangerous to assume 5’s…

@Subsidize: ok thanks for the heads up
@ReesesPieces: what else would you reccommend “stats” wise? I got a volunteering Job at the hospital by mree, and will look into internships.
@AustroHungarian: thanks for that; I was freaking out!

Most selective colleges, especially Harvard, are looking for students who have a ‘passion’ for something outside of school – an extracurricular activity, job, volunteer opportunity etc. My advice: besides continuing to do well in school, you need to get off CC and spend the next two years following your passion, wherever that may take you. See: [The Answer Sheet - Question 3: Do colleges want well-rounded students or those with a passion?](http://voices.washingtonpost.com/answer-sheet/college-admissions/question-3-do-colleges-want-we.html)

Also be aware that the ‘pre-med track’ (at least at the college level) is changing: <a href=“Pre-Med’s New Priorities: Heart and Soul and Social Science - The New York Times”>Pre-Med’s New Priorities: Heart and Soul and Social Science - The New York Times;

You don’t have to demonstrate an interest in science to be pre-med as reesespeices suggested. Harvard accepts you to Harvard College, and once there you can concentrate in anything you want to. Medical school, on the other hand, will want to see your interest in science and medicine before accepting you, but you still don’t have to be a science concentrator to demonstrate that.

It’s fine that you think you want to go to Harvard, but I would advise that you relax and come up with alternative plans. My kid always wanted to do well in school and loved her ECs but she never really thought about Harvard until she was a junior. I think that’s a more typical story of admitted students than that of the kid whose mission in life since the 7th grade was to go to H.
