So I am currently a freshman at the University of Maryland College Park. I am hoping to transfer to either Nyu's Stern, UPenn's Wharton, or Emory. I am an economics major hoping to double major in business or finance. Could you chance me please?
Also, for people who actually matriculated into these schools as a transfer, could you post your stats or give me advice so I am compare. Thanks.
Here are my stats:
H.S. gpa: 3.75 UW
College gpa: might be 3.88 or lower but will be over 3.8
SAT: 1990- reading-620 math-670 writing -700
Subject tests: math I- 680 US history: 730
I have pretty could extracurriculars for both H.S. and College
I am asking my Engl101 professor and Econ professor for recs. I think both will be really good.
I am also in a CIVICUS program at UMD so I do alot of community service
My older sister is also a student at NYU's tisch school so I don't know if it'll help.
Also, I am doing federal work study next semester where I'll help UMD students in econ200 which is microeconomics
I am also taking Calc II and will take Calc III next semester which I hope will help cuz I heard Stern loves math students: I love math!
Thank you for your help!

Note that when transferring between college, your college GPA is the most important factor. Since you’re a freshmen though, it will be difficult to judge your performance thus far. If you have a 3.6+ or so - it looks good. However, admission to all of these schools is always pure speculation. I would say you have a decent shot at Emory. That being said, Wharton I would say is most definitely a reach. Stern would fall just below Wharton. Having a sibling at a school helps - although note you would be in different colleges within NYU - which won’t count for as much as it would say if you were in the same college.
