what are my chances at all of my schools

penn (early) - MATCH for A/s
rest RD....
duke --- pretty much reach for anyone these days
northwestern - slight reach
cornell - slight reach
unc - match, even out of state, u have very good stats
michigan - IN
harvard - BIG REACH
princeton- same
stanford - same

You will get into Penn. I would be flat stunned if you didn't, with that kind of legacy. You could retake the SAT again in the spring, when you have a bit more schooling under your belt, and I wouldn't be surprised if you could raise it up.

i can understand the big 3 yale harvard and princeton as reaches but
i dont think duke northwestern and cornell really are reaches

you are in at penn if you keep up ur grades. your sat score's fine as it already is.

don't worry about hyp since you'll be a happy quaker. :)

what are some other opinions on my schools besides penn?

You have a significant chance at all of those schools, Keep it up and I'd say "urine!"

Northwestern is not a slight reach...it's a match at worst. Your grades and scores are both excellent. People with stats a lot lower than yours have gotten in from my school.

Harvard Princeton Stanford are reahces for everyone but you definitely have a chance at them. Penn your are almost guaranteed to get into. You will probably get into Cornell Northwestern and Duke

um to be a "match," for RD, i would say the poster needs to have an SAT higher than the 75th percentile

for Northwestern, he fails that test, which has a 1500 75th percentile

thus, it is a slight reach

Wow, did basically ever user who responded to the OP dismiss the fact that the OP has a 34 on the ACT, which is roughly equivalent to a 2300 on the new SAT I, and is what the schools he's applying to will consider since they take the best score from either test. I think it's preposterous to suggest that the OP needs to retake the SAT I when he has such a high ACT score!!!

Don't worry about the rest of the schools because if you apply ED to Penn with the sort of legacy that you ahve, as long as it's not Wharton or something, you're pretty much guaranteed acceptance lest you screw up your application.

His ACT is above the 75th percentile, which is 33. His SAT M+V is slightly below the 75th percentile, but is still a good 90 points above average.

yea i love penn but i love duke just as much. i am an avid sports fan and would love it at duke with their basketball team. i cant pass up the chnace at penn tho, since i have a really good one. if u were me would u apply to duke which u might like more or not give up your higher chnaces for penn?

i say you have little to no chance at any of those schools because i'm your friend and that's what friends are for. constructive criticism is always a plus.

"duke --- pretty much reach for anyone these days"

Pretty much a reach for anyone from L.I. anyway.

I don't know how you should play ED, but I'd bet you get in Penn RD.

since you're basically a shoe-in for penn, you might wanna apply to another school ED, and go penn RD

yea ur in for penn, legacy is a big part of penn. as for the others, ur prolly in at duke and northwestern. as for HYPS, nothing really makes u stand out

my hyps hurt.
