HELP! Chances of getting into a BS/MD Program! Please REPLY

Hello, I'm currently a junior at Seoul International School in Seoul, Korea, and I would like to know what you think of my chances of getting into a BS/MD program, especially if you have been accepted to one!

Here are my stats:

GPA: 4.0 unweighted
Class Rank: I think I'm 1 or 2 right now, but that could change.

SAT 1: 2250 total - 730 CR 770 M 750 W --should I retake?
SAT 2: 800 Biology E, I'm taking Math IIC and Chemistry in October and I'm expecting 780-800 on both, and I'm taking Chinese in November

APs:
AP World History: 5
AP Chinese: 5
I'm currently taking AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP English Language and Composition and AP US History.
I'm planning to take AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, AP Psychology next year. I'm deciding between AP Environmental Science and AP Literature.

Extracurriculars:
Volunteering at a local hospital
Internship at the virology lab under a professor at the Catholic University of Korea
Founder and President of the Red Cross Youth Chapter at my school (didn't exist before)
Copy Editor for Scientia, the school's science magazine (winner of CSPA silver circle award)

Awards:

Most Improved Player for Cross Country 2009
Science Award during freshman year
Academic honor rolls since freshman year every semester

I am aspiring to get into the Rice/Baylor, USC, Rochester or Brown PLME programs. What factors are most important? I've also heard that the PLME program is not as comprehensive/recognized; is this true?

I also am planning to apply to Princeton, Harvard and MIT. I also want to apply to Caltech but I feel that I haven't done well enough in math, nor do I have math-related activities....

Does the fact that I'm Canadian hurt my chances of being accepted into a guaranteed medical program?

Thank you!

It is almost impossible for some one lives in Korea to get into a bs/md program like that, regardless your stats. Because everyone being admitted MUST be interviewed on campus on their schedule. Even if you can group together the visits, it will take weeks just for traveling alone and the cost will be prohibitive. So, unless you take a gap year and live here for interviews, your sr. year in hs will be totally wasted just for applying a program in bs/md. ppl normally apply for all these programs, because the chances to get in is less than 5%.

Some programs require USA citizenship, I am not sure about ones on your list. Check websites or contact them directly.

Thank you to those who replied!
Bummmmmmmmmmmp. I could use a little more help :D

Wow your creditials are great! Congratulations!

Many programs do ask for your citizenship status (though I am not sure if they would just say no to an international student), so I’d check into that first.

To help you out: they do look for a dedicated medical interest (hours spent shadowing, working in health settings, volunteering in health settings etc) so be sure to build those up!

Your unweighted GPA is still unknown. SAT is OK. There are many AP courses you are taking, so uncertainty still lies ahead. From your credentials, i would say you have chance (if citizenship is not a problem).

But I would say, nowadays, SAT I - 2300, unweighted GPA 4.5+, and 10 plus AP courses with all 5 grade are common.

@BigFire: How could you have a UW GPA of 4.5…at most schools, the max UW GPA is 4.0
Anyways, I think your stats are great! If you keep the gpa like you have been doing and your SAT 2 scores come out the way you have projected them, you should be in great shape from an academic point of view!

Your SAT is pretty good too, I wouldn’t focus most of your time on improving it, but like BigFire said, there are definitely a lot of students you are competing against who will have 2300s. So if you practice and think you can hit 2350 on practice tests, then I would recommend taking it again.

Other than that, keep getting medical ECs, volunteering, shadowing, research, etc. and you should definitely be good to go for at least landing an interview at some programs if you apply widely.

sorry weighted GPA 4.5+

Chem and IIC 800 and Chinese 790! (:
I really don’t want to retake SAT I…hopefully my ECs and SAT IIs will make up for it?

amazing eveyrthing.

the fact u live in korea could kill ur chances:(
