Help!! Chances of UCSD?

What are my chances of getting into UCSD? I am a resident of Oregon, have a 4.05 GPA, in top 10% of my class, have taken AP Chem, AP Stats, AP English, AP Psychology, and AP Spanish. However, my SAT Verbal is 480, math is 550, and writing 530 (Not great, I know) And I wasn't able to take subjects tests because on last day to take them I was re-taking the SAT Reasoning test. I have played volleyball for school and club every year, have extracurricular activities, awards, community service, and work experience.

What are my chances on getting into UCSD? I know test scores are really important and mine aren't that great and I wasnt able to take the subjects :-/

two subject tests are... required.

if you don't have them, you're not even eligible.

In any case, the SAT I is too low for UCSD. I don't know why you would want to go to a public school out of state. If you pay that much, might as well go to a private school with more individual attention and less of a sink-or-swim mentality.

If you were eligible (which you aren't), your test scores are dragging you down so far, you are unlikely to be admitted.

Take a SAT course, then practice, practice, practice and then retake the regular SAT tests. (and take the two required subject area tests).

kheenk:

UCSD: Super Reach (out of state)

Alrightay thanks so much, I applied beforehand thinking my scores would go up higher but unfortuantely they didn't do much, what about UCR cause I applied there too

kheenk:

UCR: Slight Reach (out of state)

what about USF?

UCSD: super reach (weighted GPA a little low, scores pretty low for their standards, OOS, etc.)
UCR: slight reach (OOS)

uc riverside's pretty easy to get into according to my couselor. i think you have a good chance there.

"uc riverside's pretty easy to get into according to my couselor. i think you have a good chance there."

It's pretty easy for in-staters, not so much for OOS-ers.

and the fact that the OP has extremely low SAT's and no SAT II's drops the chances even more

Yeah my hopes aren't too high, I am taking the test again this weekend but it will be too late for the UC schools. When I applied I was hoping my scores would improve but they failed to do so, and true not taking the subjects probably hurt me. Anyway thanks for the responses, kind of had a feeling that would be the outcome

you could have tried cal states! (:
but you have other backups, right?

Oh yeah I have backups I've applied to nine other schools so I'm not worried about it
