I'm supposed to be transferring from community college to a state college this fall, but I'm having second thoughts and I may opt to stay at community college another year.

First of all I don't love this state college or hate it. The two main reasons I'm going is the cost is low and I can commute, as I've tried dorming before and didn't like it at all. I can tell already that they're very disorganized. Whenever I call to ask a question they give me the wrong information or simply don't know the answer or who can give me an answer.

The college I would really love to go to is a small private liberal arts college I could also commute to in less time than the state college. I feel it's a much better fit for me personally and I would love to go there, but the price is about $33k a year. I could potentially get a $10k scholarship for the year, but the tuition is still high at $23k. I have no idea if I could get any additional money or scholarships. I always file the fafsa, but my family never qualifies for money. The other main reason I'd like to go here instead is because I won't lose any classes in my transfer surprisingly and I can graduate on time. At the state college I'm going to lose 4 classes and may have to go an extra semester or year.

I'm meeting with my adviser this week to see if it's possible to stay a third year and if any other scholarships may be available. What would be the better option? Go to the state college and suck it up, even though I have no interest in the college except the low cost, or go to the private college which seems like the best choice except for the expensive price tag?
